Another new CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) event for EML Team Building in 2025 is ‘Sleep Pods’. These are a one-person emergency shelters for homeless people and rough sleepers. They have been called a game changer by distribution partners who give them to rough sleepers all over the UK and refugees throughout Europe.
Our client selected the fabulous facilities at Silverstone Circuit for their meeting and we at EML Team Building were asked to supply one of three activities for guests to rotate to every 45 minutes. The other two ‘activities’ were held by the client and were internal business sessions entitled “introduction to new products” and “questions and answers with the directors”. The Sleep Pod activity obviously was of interest to guests providing an interesting and unusual slant to the business meeting.
The main exhibition facilities at Silverstone Circuit, as expected, were excellent as was the catering. With a huge space available the CSR Sleep Pod activity was held on the upper mezzanine (in the main conference space) at the venue, and we looked after 85 guests per rotation. The event was a great success and is obviously highly unusual.

Sleep Pods should be seen as an emergency shelter, a way for charities to engage with entrenched rough sleepers and refugees ahead of more professional services being accessed. Sleep Pods distribution partners know how to target those that will benefit most.
Sleep Pods are light-weight, come in their own bag and are quick and easy to put up and pack away. They are windproof and rain resistant. Sleep Pods self-warm, reflecting the users body heat back towards them. In recent tests when the outside temperature was -16 degrees, the “next to body” temperature was +4 degrees.
