Teams start with a series of team building games, earning “cash” to spend in our scrapheap shop on the materials they’ll need for the build ahead.
The goal: construct a complex machine, a giant catapult or crane, built to a specific set of design specifications. It’s practical, hands-on problem solving, with every material choice and design decision shaping how the machine performs later.
The event culminates in a high-energy head-to-head competition, as teams put their machines to the test in front of everyone. Will it rise to the challenge, or collapse into a pile of scrap?
