How many people can take part in indoor team building events?

We’ve run team building events for as few as 6 people to as many as 1000! With the right venue, facilitators and kit, anything is possible. To cater for large numbers, we have multiple sets of equipment, so that everyone gets to take part in all the games and activities we bring.

How many people are on a team?

Generally, when competing in events we recommend teams of 8-10 participants. This allows everyone to make a meaningful contribution without creating undue pressure on any one person. It strikes the perfect balance.

How long do your events last?

Anywhere from 30 minutes to a full day, depending on your requirements. We’re adept at adapting activities for different timeframes, meaning we can integrate team building tasks into your larger event or run them as a standalone event with all the bells and whistles.

Can your indoor team building events be integrated with an existing event?

Yes! All our team building events can be adjusted to integrate with an event you’ve already planned. Add a Taskmasters challenge to a company away day, use a short  Wacky Races session as a break between presentations, or run a day-long Crystal Challenge event to have teams completing refreshing challenges throughout your corporate conference. Who are your indoor team building events for?

Our indoor team building events are suitable for everyone from multi-disciplinary teams through to senior managers. They’re a good choice for company fun days and new staff intakes, as well as activities at company conferences, anniversary celebrations and client hospitality events.

Where do your indoor team building events take place?

The short answer is: anywhere! Since setting up in 2000, we’ve built a network of excellent facilitators and team building event venues all over the UK – and beyond. We can use your on-site facility, set up at another venue of your choice or find a venue for you.

How long does it take you to set up?

This varies depending on the size of the event, but typically set up can take between 30 mins to 2 hours depending on the size of the event. De-rig normally takes 30-60 mins.

Who are your indoor team building facilitators?

All our facilitators are industry specialists with many years of experience providing quality team building events. Without exception, they’re experts at reading the room and serving as catalysts for effective team building experiences.

How will I know that my team building event has been successful?

Before your event takes place, we’ll work with you to set clear objectives as part of our 5 step process. Then, after the event, we can combine facilitator insights with participant surveys and feedback, team performance data and expert insights to create a Team Impact Report specific to you. This allows you to measure your event outcomes and define areas for future development.

Can I design my own team building event?

Yes! We have plenty of options. Choose from over 38 games to build your own Team Challenge or get in touch to have our experienced event management consultants design something just for you.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. We’ve provided team building events in Venice, Rome, Paris, Prague and as far afield as Bulgaria. Our Lego Master Builder sessions work very well overseas. Hiring us to run events in Europe can be very cost effective due to international exchange rates favouring the pound.

Are indoor team building events hard to organise?

With our support, organising a team building event is easy. While there are many moving parts – from venue hire to booking equipment to sending out event invitations – we can event manage the design and delivery to make everything as easy as possible for you. Alternatively, if you’d like to play more of a central role, we can take a back seat and simply provide the team building experience alone. It’s completely up to you.

How do you divide participants into teams?

We can choose teams at random, you can choose teams deliberately, or a combination of the two. If you have strong personalities in your organisation, splitting them into different groups can help ensure the team building exercise is productive.

Do I need to provide you with everyone’s details in advance?

No, we only need to know one contact detail for the day and then a list of the Teams is sufficient a few days prior to the event. All details you share with us are fully GDPR compliant.

Can my event be company branded?

Absolutely. You can provide monsoon banners and feather flags with your company branding for display at your event or if you don’t have any, we can get these produced for you. So too, all paperwork and documentation – such as event itineraries, maps and instructions – can be produced in your brand colours as well as featuring your company logo. Can you arrange technology to support the event, e.g. AV equipment?

Yes! We have plenty of contacts in the industry who can supply equipment needed to support your event. Just let us know what you need – or alternatively, have us manage the event for you and we’ll figure out which equipment is required and hire it for you.

Can we start the day with an ice breaker?

Certainly! This can be a great way to improve team relationships and outcomes for the main team building event. Choose between ‘heads or tails’ and Chinese whispers games, short drawing exercises and building activities to loosen up your team ready for the main event.

Can you create event packs for participants to accompany indoor team building events?

Absolutely! Event packs can add that special touch by creating a feeling of anticipation and being cared for. We can include event itineraries, venue maps, name tags and even gift items featuring your company branding. If you’d like packs sent out prior to the event, we’ll need a list of postal or email addresses as well as time to send them out before your event (usually a minimum of 7 working days for postal items, though branded gifts can take longer to print and dispatch). Do you award prizes for the winning team?

Winning teams get bragging rights and ‘gold’ medals, which are included in our quote for your event. If you’d like to add a special touch – like chocolates, wine or flowers – we can arrange this for you. Likewise, we can add participation prizes such as company-branded diaries, pens and postcards. Just let us know what you’re thinking when you speak to us.

Can you create legacy materials for us to remember our team building event by?

We certainly can! Artwork your team has created or professional photographs taken during your event can be printed onto notepads and diaries, tea towels, canvasses or whatever takes your fancy. A great way to remember your team building experience!

How can I be sure the EML Team will be there as planned?

We know it can be nerve-wracking to rely on an external supplier, so we make sure you know exactly what to expect from us, when to expect it and how to contact us if you need to. One week before your event, we’ll send a final email confirming that everything is in place for your event. And, on the day, our facilitators and events managers will let you know when they’re on-site and getting set up, giving you peace of mind.

What if there are problems on the day with the venue, catering or equipment?

If you’ve hired us to manage your event for you, then we’ll take control of preventing and resolving all problems. This will ensure the day goes ahead seamlessly in line with our agreed itinerary, that participants feel welcomed and supported, and that you have a single point of contact for anything you need during the event. Risk assessments and insurance for indoor team building events?

We take the health and safety of you and your colleagues very seriously. Once the booking form has been signed, our Operations Team will send you a full set of risk assessments covering the event, along with our electrical PAT certificates and our £10 million public liability insurance certificate.

What if I need to move my indoor team building event?

We understand that sometimes things happen that are beyond your control. For this reason, we will strive to help you move the contracted date of your event with as little cost to you as possible if this becomes necessary. This will depend on agreements with venues and suppliers who may charge a fee to change dates at short notice.
